Jesus in Syria

Matthew 4:23-25

And he went throughout all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues and proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom and healing every disease and every affliction among the people.

So his fame spread throughout all Syria,

and they brought him all the sick, those afflicted with various diseases and pains, those oppressed by demons,  epileptics, and paralytics, and he healed them. And great crowds followed him...

The history of this area is remarkable.
Modern events seem so mismatched from that time long ago,
not so long ago really. How did we get here?

  2. Hi Sandi! And you know, what really hurts is the way that Isis is destroying art and architecture from ancient times too. That's our history too, and it feels like a body-blow when I see it on the news.

It only shows how much we need Jesus. And He's not coming again until the end of the age, so we have to step in and do our best to be a nation of love and equality. God have mercy on us as we battle our enemies.
    Blessings,
    Ceil

    1. It is hard to watch, isn't it? It's like they are trying to destroy history. But a part of me, the eternal optimist, says maybe they will uncover something of far more importance. That would be something.

  5. I know; it makes me very sad. I have a friend whose son is helping with refugees coming to Greece on little rafts. Come, Lord Jesus.
