Did he say, "weapons in space"?

Peace between nations is a good thing, right? Why not talk? Silence is a prison. Nothing changes if no one speaks. I was glad to see the Trump-Putin meeting happen.
I hope good things come of it.

Did you hear Putin's remarks at the press conference? He said all the normal things, but one phrase jumped out at me. My 11 year old and I said at the same time,
"Did he say 'weapons in space'?" (COOL!)

Yes. Yes, he did:

"We believe that continued joint efforts to fully work through the military-political and disarmament dossier is necessary. That includes the renewal of the Strategic Offensive Reductions Treaty, the dangerous situation surrounding the development of elements of the US global missile defence system, the implementation of the Treaty on the Elimination of Intermediate-Range and Shorter-Range Missiles, and the topic of deploying weapons in space." (en.kremlin.ru)

Did you watch any of this? What do you think?

  1. I didn't watch the press conference, but I'm glad the two met and talked. They are the only two people in the world who can move things in the right direction.

  2. I think frankly that Putin has a stranglehold of blackmail material on Trump, and Trump doesn't care less how far he has to go to keep that out of public view, even if it means America bows to a tyrant.

History will not be kind to either of them.

  3. "A higher than the high is watching"; we can rest in God having it all under His control.

  5. Please don't listen too much to uncle don and uncle vlad, friend Sandi, as if you do you will become too afraid to be yourself and in time you will become … them. Love, cat.

  6. I didn't see it, and do not even know what weapons in space are! What country has these, and what are we not being told?

    1. I think it's some future development. Not now.

I have a strange sense of humor because I thought it sounded cool. My son said, "Like a Death Star?"

  9. Hello, I am not sure if there could be trust with someone who jails or kills their political opponent, he is afraid to loose. Shoots down planes, poisons people and much much more. Weapons in space sounds expensive, that money could be used in good ways. Enjoy your day!

  10. Communication is a good thing. Don't trust Putin farther than I could throw him, but dialogue can't be a bad thing in the long run. God does has His eyes on it all.
    Blessings, Sandi!

  11. The whole Helsinki was messed up because of the meeting of Mr. Trump and Mr. Putin. Here traffic was in a chaos but I am glad that Helsinki and Finland offered its sunny face - no clouds and 30C!

I don't personally like / love or support either of these presidents. But they are what we have got. The Finnish tv reported the whole day things about Trump and Putin. Of course there are so many difficult issues to solve in the world, I don't envy either of them.

  14. I am glad they met. Previous presidents met with Putin. I will wait and see how it plays out. Can't really believe these knee jerker headlines. There is more that will unfold in time. Right now I can't believe a thing the media says or writes.

  15. Dear Sandi I didn't see this meeting. No matter the outcome I trust God is in control. In answer to my thief on my blog - he is a groundhog. Very common in my part of the country. Thanks for the visit. Hugs!

  17. I've only seen what was shown on the news about the meeting. Seems to me that no matter how hard President Trump tries, the news media is too critical of him. I think the meeting was a good thing.

    1. Thanks, Penny. That's encouraging. I thought so, too, but the news is screaming otherwise. It seems like the whole world has gone insane.

  18. Enjoyed your post, Sandi. Wish more Christians shared their thoughts about current events. Ultimately God is in control, but He raises up some and takes down others and its interesting to watch and learn. I love our nation and our president protects Israel so I feel safe but cannot deny the infestation of corruption at the higher levels of authority that should be protecting citizens. It trickles down to paid off media to promote evil. God is cleaning house and there's much to pray for daily. Prayer is powerful!
