Do you remember the ways of the past? Nowhere was heard a discouraging word. That could be read now here was heard a discouraging word. Space makes a difference. Remember when we went to ice cream socials? I don't. I have never, ever been to one, but I do recall the innocence of years gone by. Everyone meant well. We were well. There was no high fructose corn syrup and no war. Well, there was war. Do I see those days the way they were or the way I was? Today's world seems darker and when Jesus appears in the sky I won't even be surprised. Now here this. Now hear this.
I haven't posted my own words in a long time. I have given you songs I love and the words of life, Bible verses, as they come to me. What stories would I tell anymore? Tales of spies who save the world? All their conniving hasn't saved us yet. One country is up, then another is down, then up again. On and on the brotherhood of man wastes our time here. We have one God. No other. We have one purpose. No other. Meet me at the sunrise where we will stand shoulder to shoulder and watch the sky and pray for God's mercy.
К сожалению, правящие миром молятся иному Богу. Поэтому и живем так, как живем.
ReplyDeleteС этим не поспоришь.
DeleteДа благословит тебя Бог, Света.
Yes, indeed...I will meet you there.
ReplyDeleteThere is definitely nothing new under the sun. Down on our knees is the only way to face the days ahead.

Our church has an ice cream social every summer!
ReplyDeleteI agree, the world is in a sad state and I think Jesus is coming back soon.
Beautiful sunrise! Praise God from Whom ALL blessings flow! Praise Him all creatures here below! Praise Him above ye heavenly hosts. Praise Father Son and Holy Ghost. Amen!
ReplyDeleteAmen 🩵
DeleteThank you for that, Pamela!
Your photo is stunning. And it is so good to read your own thoughts! I totally agree!!! Especially about man wasting our time here. I have never been to an ice-cream social either. And remember the cake walks? I think it is often true that we look at the past through rose colored glasses. Keep on writing your thoughts, you have a talent for it!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Ginny. I do remember cake walks!
DeleteWhat a beautiful sunset photo!
ReplyDeleteThank you.
DeleteOur church has ice cream socials too like Mari's. :)
ReplyDeleteEvery day I think this may be the day that Jesus returns!!
What a breathtaking sunrise (or is it a sunset?). Only God can paint such a brilliant masterpiece. And, I always look forward to reading your own thoughts.

DeleteA beautiful sunrise/sunset picture. Your thoughts today are thought provoking :) I don't know what an ice cream social is so I doubt that I've been to one.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
ReplyDeleteGreetings Sandi: I am 74 and long for the simpler times, when people got along so much better, the hatred now is so abundant, it scares me, I weep for the children and their future, I hope soon things take a big turn around. Praying three times a day for Peace.
ReplyDeleteThank-you for this amazing post.
Catherine
Sandi: I forgot to tell you we still go to ice cream socials, they are so much fun reconnecting with people we have not seen but only in passing, getting together and talking is a treat in itself.

We do still have ice cream socials at church. I would like to stand shoulder to shoulder and pray...Beautiful photo.
ReplyDeleteI went to one ice cream social, long, long (long) ago. There were five or seven flavors of ice cream churned by the host herself!
ReplyDeleteI have confidence that you will keep on telling the stories "of unseen things above; of Jesus and His glory, of Jesus and His love." They are the stories, HE is the story by which we live and breathe and have our being.
It won't be long now, until all the associated good stories come true.
Thank you, Gretchen. 😀
DeleteA beautiful picture, the colours are amazing.
ReplyDeleteI'd not come across the term ice cream social before!
Praying for more peace and harmony in our world.
All the best Jan
I have not been to one. May we praise God for every sunrise and another day to do his work!
