This proverb reminds of an old yeddish saying;" Mann tracht un Gott lacht" meaning man plans and God laughs" or as Woodie Allen puts it: If you want to make God laugh, tell Him about your plans.
It's not that we should not plan things, but that we should be aware of our limitations. It's God, after all, who has the last say in any matter.
Hi Sandi, these were some of the first Words that the Lord spoke to me when I became born again of His Spirit. However, in the version I was reading it used the word 'mind' instead of 'heart', and this was one of the things that brought me to start to discern between the carnal mind and the mind of Christ. I love how the Lord speaks to every one of us individually. God bless Sandi.
Sandi, I saw this a couple of hours ago when I needed an answer on something, and this verse really helped me. Thank you for praying for my son. He is healing and doing better. It's so nice to have blog friends like you, who are there when I need them the most.

ReplyDeleteHa ha! Good idea! :)
DeleteAmen
ReplyDeleteHi, Cloudia! :)
DeleteIndeed. We should not make our plans without asking for God's guidance.
ReplyDeleteOh this is so true!! We can make all the plans in the world, but it is the Lord's purpose and plan that will prevail! Praise God!!! He knows best!!!!
ReplyDeleteYes, we make the plans, but God directs our paths.
ReplyDeleteA wise passage.
ReplyDeleteAnd in the end, I'm so thankful his plan wins, because it's the best!
