I love normal words that paint a vivid picture, a simple set of thoughts, plain, humble, but...well, look:
"It's not a grand house. It's just an everyday house, but everything that's happening in it is good and so that means it's a palace."
Isn't that fulfilling?
(It's from a Jordan Peterson lecture.)
I love words, too, and the evocative pictures they paint. Have a really great Sunday. xo Diana
ReplyDeleteLogically, yes, but the reality is more complex.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful thought! And true! A home is what you make it, no matter the size.
ReplyDeleteYes, it is.
ReplyDeleteA curious thought.
ReplyDeleteSandi, I love words too. Sometimes just a simple phrase can say volumns. Thanks for your visit. I wasn't sure which one with the blue border you were talking about, but thought it might be the last pic?? If so, that is a candle holder from Joanne's. Pretty, and inexpensive. Happy Sunday..Judy
ReplyDeleteWords can be very powerful.
ReplyDeleteYes, it is.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Sandi. I just love Jordan Peterson.
I think plain words say it best; and it's not about a grand house; it's about love in that house. Wishing you abundant love!
ReplyDeleteA house can be as big as your imagination wants it to be.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
People tend to say: my home is my palace, or my home is my fortress. Yes, home is what the owner feels and says it is for him. And that saying is quite enough to give an accurate description of his home; no other words are neccessary.
ReplyDeleteFollowed the link to discover it was YouTube, can't play it here in the country our WiFi is too slow!!!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the comment Diane
Wonderful sentiments Sandi - there is no place like home! Hugs!

ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful description!
ReplyDeleteThe simple single word, "Home," is beautiful to me.
ReplyDeleteOh I love this, Sandi. It really got to me because home is so important to me. There is a quote that I want to share with you....
ReplyDelete"Home can heal. There is healing in home."
~Maya Angelou.
Now, I'll click on the link you shared.

So true! And I also love what he says 2:32 - 2:47
ReplyDeleteMe too, but I enjoy looking up word origins...also I find that old books, like Pinocchio, are written so much better and vividly than most things written today, sadly.
ReplyDeleteThank you for visiting my blog, and your loving comment. ❤️
Simple things are often the best. A simple home with love in it, a simple meal cooked with care...
ReplyDeleteEverything that is happening in it is good. Love that!
ReplyDeletePlain and humble, so well said. A good home, a simple life, truthfulness....
ReplyDeletewe often go camping ... when we come home we wonder why the need for so much space? u need so little. humor, food, some clothes ... but nothing big. ( ;
ReplyDeleteLove the simple words that paint a picture.
ReplyDeleteHello, I do not need much, a small good home is fine with me!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your day, wishing you a happy weekend!
Hi Sandi,
ReplyDeleteWe have never been rich, but everything God has given us, whether physical or Spiritual has brought 'satisfaction'. What lies ahead in Jesus far outdoes anything in this world.
yes i love the line too, its a good one...
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful to be living in such a palace. It takes special people to create harmony.
ReplyDeleteIt does!
DeleteI feel like you wrote this post for me Sandi :)

Such a wonderful post. And yes we can have our own palace. Blessings..
ReplyDelete"In My Father's house are many mansions...if it were not so, I would have told you....I go to prepare a place for you..." (John 14:2)... also..."be it ever so humble, there's no place like home..." And "home is where the heart is...".
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed your brief post and the truth of it. I also enjoyed the video at the link. The presenter was very impassioned.
ReplyDeleteTudo está da maneira como vemos as coisas.

Vengo a desearte una feliz semana santa
ReplyDeleteBeautiful indeed.
ReplyDeleteHi Sandi, Just stopping by this morning to see if you had a new post I hadn’t seen yet when I noticed the line in your header, “A quiet whisper on a very loud Internet. Can you hear me?” To tell the truth, I often prefer the whisperers over the noisy ones. Whisperers are usually more sincere. :-) I hear you clearly! John
ReplyDeleteOh, so true. !
ReplyDelete😀❤️
ReplyDeleteI love words like that, too, Sandi.
ReplyDeleteIt is not house
ReplyDeleteit is people that give meaning to their place
i saw dark barren palaces
and
simple ,sweet full of life houses that seemed FAR MARVELOUS THAN ANY PALACE
Delete:)
Thank you, Baili!
