To know for certain God is real.
To know He loves you
and He sent His Son to take your place.
To know He hears you loud and clear.
To know He cares about what you care about.
It matters to Him too.
To know He answers you every time. All the time.
What gives one person this certainty
and yet another does not know?
You ask good questions, Sandi. I have known people in great sickness and pain; yet their faith is very strong indeed.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
It is a hard thing to figure out. One believes, another does not. One looks at the sky and says there must be a God, another sees nothing but stars and clouds and the sun.
DeleteI pray that people will accept Jesus as their savior. He is the bridge to God our creator.
ReplyDeleteMe too, Angela.
DeleteHe takes care of the whole earth.
ReplyDeleteAmen...
DeleteInteresting picture! Are the two discussing God?
ReplyDeleteAs for the answer to your question - each of us feels God's actions in a private, intimate manner.
Perhaps you tell us what gives you certainty of God's benevolent, loving actions.
The picture depicts Jesus talking to Samaritan woman at the well. It's from John 4. Here is part of it:
DeleteA woman from Samaria came to draw water. Jesus said to her, “Give me a drink.” )For his disciples had gone away into the city to buy food.) The Samaritan woman said to him, “How is it that you, a Jew, ask for a drink from me, a woman of Samaria?” (For Jews have no dealings with Samaritans.) Jesus answered her, “If you knew the gift of God, and who it is that is saying to you, ‘Give me a drink,’ you would have asked him, and he would have given you living water.”
"Perhaps you tell us what gives you certainty of God's benevolent, loving actions."
DeleteThat's what I try to do here. :)
It also has this: "The woman said to him, “I know that Messiah is coming (he who is called Christ). When he comes, he will tell us all things.” Jesus said to her, “I who speak to you am he.” John 4: 25-26
DeleteI've had someone tell me Jesus never claimed to be the Messiah, but He did there. Although, the exact quotations are awkward for me. I mean, it was translated and the story was told by word of mouth first. Still, I believe God lead people to write what is in scripture for a reason, so I do believe the story.
I think the more we study into His word, the more certain we can become. He assures those who earnestly seek him.
ReplyDeleteAmen...
DeleteI am the one who has this certainty. And it would be difficult to live without it.
ReplyDeleteI feel the same way, Kaya.
DeleteI love God and God loves me, knowing that is the happiest thing that ever happened in my life!
ReplyDeleteAmen!
DeleteLove this post! It's a reminder about life and God.
ReplyDeleteThank you.
Thank you, Evi! :)
Deletei fear of nothing dear Sandi ,absolutely nothing except that someone may be brain wash me and take away the faith i have in him ,so empty so hollow i will be
ReplyDeleteeverything i have has meaning because i think this is his gift
So true, Baili! It is important to know the truth. It sets us free. God bless you.
DeleteJesus talked to the Samaritan woman there and spoke about the living water.
ReplyDeleteYes! I love this story.
DeleteI don't know.
ReplyDeleteI don't think I'm meant to.
"I don't think I'm meant to."
DeleteWhy not?
To know these things takes faith on our parts. Faith as small as a mustard seed.
ReplyDeleteGod's sovereignty is what it is. Now that was a deep comment. :) It all comes from Him. The knowing, the believing and the trusting.
