Dear Sandi, this sunflower reminds me of growing up out in the country on twenty acres. We had a milk cow and a couple of older horse, a sow, some chickens and rabbits, a barn cat, and a dog--Kentury--who was my brother's buddy. And in the back yard, we had sunflowers! Peace.
Sunflowers are such a cheerful flower. They are so pretty even when they are drooping and wilting in the heat.

*just wanted to tell you, Yes, that is a Civil War Chess set, and it was nice that you noticed that. It is Brian's, Jess' husband. He plays the south, and Jess plays the north. : )
This one was a gift from the birds. :) We have hanging bird feeders and the seeds sometimes fall on the ground. Who knew they would sprout a sunflower??
Is this growing in your garden Sandi, I have a minute version of this in my garden at the moment.
