Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm. Stand therefore, having fastened on the belt of truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and, as shoes for your feet, having put on the readiness given by the gospel of peace.
In all circumstances take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one; and take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God, praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication.
Ephesians 6:13-18a
Good to remember this!
ReplyDeleteEspecially now!
DeleteThis is a favorite Scripture of mine, we did a women's Bible study on Priscilla Shirer's book "The Armor of God." Did you see her acting in War Room?
ReplyDeleteI have not seen it, but I know who she is.
DeleteGood to remember that we are under attack from the evil one, and must put on God's armor every day.
ReplyDeleteBlessings, Sandi!
It is important to remember.
DeleteWishing you peace, Sandi. And a beautiful image to go with the words.
ReplyDeleteYou too, Jeanie. Thank you!
DeleteHave a wonderful weekend.
ReplyDeleteYou too, William!
DeleteIf we are going to stand we need all this gear!
ReplyDeleteYes!!
DeleteWe need all that armor just to live in this world!
ReplyDeleteWe sure do!
DeleteGreat Bible verses and a lovely picture.
ReplyDeleteThanks, happyone.
DeleteI LOVE this chapter of Ephesians...and try to remember to put on the "whole armor of God" every day. In today's world, we sure need to keep our armor on. So many fiery darts are being shot at the believers...we need to stand firm and keep our eyes on Jesus. The time is short....
ReplyDeleteAmen to that, Pamela...amen to that.
DeleteYou have probably seen my husbands wood carvings on my blog. A few years ago our Pastor did a sermon series on this passage and Bob carved a Roman soldier with all the armor to go with it. It's sitting in our living room, so I have a regular reminder of that passage.
ReplyDeleteI have seen some of them. Have you posted a photo of the Roman soldier? I would love to see it!
DeleteThis is such an excellent part of the Word of God to hide in our hearts and put into practice daily and through out the day as there is a spiritual battle we face on going in our walk with Christ.
ReplyDeleteI'm thankful that we have the Bible, Gods Word, to guide our lives and that we can freely read it.
Joy to you ♡
Me too. In some parts of the world it is illegal.
DeleteI have always admired people who face great evil with courage. I am grateful that I have lived in safety and peace when so many others in this world have have not. I don't know why I should be so lucky and others not. I hope that I would prove courageous if I had to face great evil. These verses from Ephesians always make me think about these things. Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteWe have so much to be thankful for.
DeleteFunny...you strike me as courageous. I bet you are stronger than you think.
Thanks, Sandi! I generally consider myself to have courage, but then I have never been confronted by truly horrible things. Enjoy your weekend!
DeleteBeautiful words like the picture.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Catalin.
DeleteHave a blessed day!
Fantastic Colours 💙
ReplyDeleteThanks, Suza!
Delete"shield of the faith" yes this is the only true protector my friend!
ReplyDeletethis is sublime sharing!
So true, Baili! :-)
DeleteGood to see you!!
Hi Sandi,
ReplyDeletehow can anyone not say 'Amen' to those scriptures.
God bless.
ReplyDeleteI remember
Amen.
ReplyDeleteGod bless, Sandi.
The beautiful gospel! If you have a faith you will have the whole armor of God to stay strong!
ReplyDelete'The armor of God' is the 'shield of faith'; to put in one word - Faith. It is in us , in our spirit, our mind.
ReplyDeleteWe cannot live without Faith.
Amen!
