These are strange days.
Some things I have noticed:
When I read the Bible the verses are closer. What were once words in a book became words in my heart when I got saved almost thirty years ago. But now they are words hanging in the air an inch in front of me. Not hanging. Hanging sounds purposeless and haphazard. I mean placed. Do you know what I mean?
Nature is more alive. Monkeys are taking over empty cities they say. We have no monkeys here in the Southeastern USA, but the animals we do have seem to be freer. They are moving around more, like they hear music being played just for them. Maybe of a celebration we've all been invited to. Do you hear that?
Are the stars brighter in the sky?
Or maybe the sky is less cluttered now.
People are listening more closely.
To eachother. To the wind. To the silence.
Are you?
Do you notice the change? What is it like for you?
Sandi, animals move in where humans leave or are about to leave, as it happened in Chernobil. They sense the change, we don't; maybe we're about to leave because of the coronavirus.

DeleteI hear the silence. I notice it most when walking at night but even in the daytime. No airplanes. Fewer cars. I just wish it would stop raining!

Yes, reading the Bible has very intense meaning these days. I am happy our church has live streaming services now so we can attend. One member said churches and live stream services are attracting people who hadn't attended church before.

DeleteWe were discussing this earlier this morning in our house...can I just say I am not a believer like some folks are in climate change...I have noticed though, yes, I agree...I have been reading a lot on subtle changes. We don't have monkeys either ((grin, just being silly)). I have read that Venice waterways are cleaner and so on. smiles

DeleteI believe the animals are hearing music coming from the gates of heaven, and the next sounds we will be hearing will be the trumpets of God. All of heaven is tuning up their instruments and preparing for that great day. Those are the sounds I am listening for and I believe they are not far away at all.

DeleteI agree with what you mentioned about verses from the Bible really hitting home. I am praying every night for the salvation of people around the world and for faithful servants of God, like Cardinal Burke, Archbishop Vigano, Cardinal Sarah & Cardinal Zen for their health & that they bring more to the faith and protect the innocent

I have noticed similarly the way the word of God speaks so close, and how the sky is particularly glimmering and the creation does seem to be shining forth His glory in new and "closer" encounters:)) May each day bring forth more of His glory here on earth as it is in Heaven!! I love seeing the pictures of animals being so comfy laying down in parks and roaming the empty streets. I feel like a child again-it's just enough to say, God is good, and I know He loves me. My walk with Him has deepened in all of this.

ReplyDeleteNot a big change in nature for me because I've always been still and listened to nature. The beautiful sights, sounds, smells, and touches bring me peace each time I spend time there. I am glad that people are slowing down a bit. The world was in a crazy fast-paced mode, and it saddened me.

There are definitely subtle changes.
ReplyDeleteThe world is becoming a different place and I don't think we will 'go back' to what it once was.
Onwards to something new, a little different and I hope good … time will tell.
I hope you have a good weekend. Here in the UK it's going to be sunny, so we will enjoy a local walk, which is what we are allowed in the present circumstances.

I do notice the changes, Sandi. Some good-some not so good. I have decided to just to take each day as it comes-to let the days behind me remain behind me and not to cast my vision too far into the future. Feels safer that way. xo Diana

ReplyDeletereminded me earlier days when we moved to village and grandma would often reply to my this question "are these animal are close " ( i would listen to roaring foxes of wolves)" they were closer when we were few here in the beginning "
i wish we can learn from this for better dear friend ,it is powerful message of nature for us
There are subtle changes, all right. The other day my husband and I were walking around the block - we live in an urban/suburban neighborhood near a village of about 14,000 people. Suddenly, a hawk flew right over us and landed in a tree just feet from us. Just one example of many.
