Luke 22:7-16
Then came the day of Unleavened Bread on which the Passover lamb had to be sacrificed. Jesus sent Peter and John, saying, “Go and make preparations for us to eat the Passover.”
“Where do you want us to prepare for it?” they asked.
He replied, “As you enter the city, a man carrying a jar of water will meet you. Follow him to the house that he enters, and say to the owner of the house, ‘The Teacher asks: Where is the guest room, where I may eat the Passover with my disciples?’
He will show you a large room upstairs, all furnished. Make preparations there.”
They left and found things just as Jesus had told them. So they prepared the Passover.
When the hour came, Jesus and his apostles reclined at the table. And he said to them,
“I have eagerly desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer. For I tell you, I will not eat it again until it finds fulfillment in the kingdom of God.”
I had the privilege to see this mural last January. Even though the last supper did not look like that, and the colors fade, it is an impressive reminder of Christ's Passion and Resurrection (these are in fact inseparable), all the event that had their immediate beginning in this meal :)

DeleteOh What a Savior..... thank you for posting..
ReplyDeleteSandi, I am glad that I read this biblical story again. Thank your for reminding us about it. God bless you!!!
ReplyDeleteIn those days it was always women who drew water from the well, (see the woman at the well story). So it was unusual to find a man with a jar of water. Hence the disciples having to follow him to the right house.
ReplyDeleteThank you Sandi. God bless.
Interesting!
DeleteWanneer de bron of fontein op een afstand staat, of veel water nodig is, worden gebruinde huiden of aarden potten gevuld en vervoerd op de ruggen van mannen of ezels.
DeleteDanke je, Hervormde!
DeleteTranslation for my readers: When the source or fountain is at a distance, or much water is needed, tanned hides or earthen pots are filled and transported on the backs of men or donkeys.
DeleteEaster is necessary as we celebrate how Christ died, rose from the dead and promises his people life eternal.
ReplyDeleteHoje vi em 3D o salão em que imaginam ter sido a última ceia! Passou na Cultura. Bem legal!.. Abraços! Laerte.
