Presence

What is the presence of God like?
Like fire that doesn't burn.
Like rain when the whole world is dry.

Like light from the sun, except you can't see the sun.
It is behind a cloud, but the light is still shining.
How is it doing that?

Like a smile deep in your heart when you know you were heard, truly heard.

He is not really like anything else.

There you are with questions.

The place is dark. You are dark.

You are sitting in a shadow. Why is life so hopeless? You realize in that moment that you are wrong. You are delighted, relieved, overjoyed (or even just regular joy at that point), that life is not as you thought. It is better. It is good. He is there, with you, real. Jesus is real.

Enough. Filled. Full.

Have you ever been full? Have you ever had enough? He loves you and He wants you to know.

For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. Romans 10:13

  1. Beautiful, Sandi!!Truly life is "life" when Jesus is in our life. Knowing He loves us is indeed life changing. I feel a lot of "release" and setting free in your poem, and that it came from your precious moments in His presence. Blessings and Shalom!Love!

  11. Good to see you are still writing, Sandi!
I agree..we cannot really compare our Lord to anything really, as He is far above all there is..but He does tell us that he is "seen in the things that He created"..
“Ever since the creation of the world his eternal power and divine nature, invisible though they are, have been understood and seen through the things he has made. So they are without excuse.” (Romans 1:20)

  13. Hi Sandi,
His presence is the strength and power to fight sin that I could not do without Him being with me.

  14. It all sounds beautiful.
I don't, however, ask myself this kind of question. It suffices to me to know and believe, that God is omnipresent and omnipotent.

  15. Hi Sandi! Oh, this is beautiful! You know I'm so thankful my mother and dad raised me in a christian home and I came to know Jesus as my Savior at an early age - I was nine. I have never doubted my salvation and have felt and known we serve a mighty awesome God!
Thank you for your sweet visit.
    Be a sweetie,
    Shelia ;)
