Who is Jesus?

“Now when John heard in prison about the deeds of the Christ, he sent word by his disciples and said to him, “Are you the one who is to come, or shall we look for another?” And Jesus answered them, “Go and tell John what you hear and see: the blind receive their sight and the lame walk, lepers are cleansed and the deaf hear, and the dead are raised up, and the poor have good news preached to them. And blessed is the one who is not offended by me.”

As they went away, Jesus began to speak to the crowds concerning John:

“What did you go out into the wilderness to see?

A reed shaken by the wind?

What then did you go out to see?

A man dressed in soft clothing?

Behold, those who wear soft clothing are in kings’ houses.

What then did you go out to see?

A prophet?

Yes, I tell you, and more than a prophet. This is he of whom it is written, "'Behold, I send my messenger before your face, who will prepare your way before you.'

Matthew 11:2-10

A voice cries: "In the wilderness prepare the way of the Lord; make straight in the desert a highway for our God."

Isaiah 40:3

  2. And the next question is - Who is Jesus for you? :)
Would you like to profess him your personal Lord and Savior?

    Best greetings :).

    1. The most important question of all.

How did you come to faith in him? My boys and I have been reading about Poland in a book by Brother Andrew, God's Smuggler. He took bibles into places behind the Iron Curtain during the days of communism in Eastern Europe. You are too young to have experienced those days, but were you touched by them...I mean, your family, your faith, etc.

      Blessings, Agaja!

    2. I read about brother Andrew in "Halina: Faith In The Fire" by Elwood McQuaid.

But I am Catholic, my whole family are (with a long tradition of being faithful to God) and in my teens I joined the Light-Life Movement (light-life.oaza.pl if you would like to learn more).

It is very kind of you to think I am much younger that I really am :). I do know the communist rule from experience... though of course not the toughest 1950s.

      Best greetings ;).

    3. Wow!

      Thank you for the link.

I would love to hear about your experiences. I am also old enough to remember those days, as an outsider since I live in the US, and only until my late teens/early twenties when Eastern Europe and the USSR seemed to change overnight.

  3. "And blessed is the one who is not offended by me"...Very powerful and an excellent reminder for all especially in this day and time.

In the manger scenes, I love seeing the poignant reminder of baby Jesus on hay, it kind of flies in the face of the prosperity message.

Jesus, Jesus how I love thee...

  12. In Judaism texts are linked to each other (from Torah, nebi'im and cetubim) and that is sometimes compared to the gathering of pearls. First pierce the pearls, first understand the good meaning and meaning of a text and then connect it with other texts. That is what you are trying to do with the Bibleverses out of both Testaments.

  13. "the blind receive their sight and the lame walk, lepers are cleansed and the deaf hear, and the dead are raised up, and the poor have good news preached to them." I came to the true faith when our son was born with a serious birth defect. There in the hospital, I looked up and gave our newborn son to the Lord to heal or whatever He wanted to do. That was 48+ years ago. He is still a joy to my heart.
