Clouds

One day long ago I was there. Now I am here. It will be like that when our world emerges from this strange time. One day we will remove the masks and let them fall to the ground. One day it will all be different. Maybe like the old days, slower, quieter. Maybe more people will think of fewer things and rest and rely on something besides what we see, hear, and are told to believe. It will be as different as flight is from walking, as removed from the dust as a wide winged bird ascending to the clouds.

  1. I do think this time has given people a chance to slow down a little and see all they do have and not be so focused on what they want. Wouldn't it be nice if we thought of fewer things, like you said?

  2. Thanks for commenting and asking about our safety.
Yes we do have a place to go and we are ok in our area for the time being. The air is so bad due to the fires in every direction. We are sort of in a pocket when it seems to be gathering.
I am so concerned for some of my friends who truly are in harms way and have been mandated to evacuate...scary times.

  6. Yes one day, I do wholeheartedly believe this. You're probably right about it not being exactly as it was, but for the most part it will be as once it was.

  7. I pray this time in our lives makes us appreciate our lives. Hopefully people will be grateful for their parents and grandparents. Maybe kids will want to study harder when they get to go back to school. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

  12. Yes, and I like the way you have worded it Sandi. One day people will have learned, especially through being in these terrible times, that the world can not continue as it is - and I think many will be drawn to the Lord because of it.

  13. I hope we hold the lessons and discoveries we have made during Covid when things ease. I don't know that they will ever end nor do I think it will be the same -- but I hope w learn things to make us better.

  15. Praying that things will be back soon, and oh how we will appreciate it. I was just singing "Blue Birds Over the White Cliffs of Dover" to my husband yesterday, very fitting. Beautiful words Sandi.

  16. Praying hard for that day to come. Sometimes I look around and see the people all hiding behind their masks and it is almost more than I can bear. I want to see their smiling faces again. I don't think masks make a good "fashion statement" at all. I'd much rather see your smile. Praying for that day to come soon.

  29. No doubt, things will be different. In what way? I don't really know, only God knows.
I only know, there's a lot about our world that has to undergo change, if we wish to survive.

  37. Beautiful post. In these upsetting times in our lives and country, walking outside to enjoy the Flowers in Bloom --and then taking a walk in the woods are two things that I do in order to make it through the day.... May God Bless YOU and ALL of us.

    Hugs,
    Betsy

  38. Sandi, Bishop Fulton Sheen is one of my favorites! He speaks so differently than the other priests, but he comes across loud and clear, doesn't he? I've watched his shows from time to time, and what he says often gets my attention. So glad you are familiar with him too. : )

  39. This is a beautiful post. I find I'm much more content with the simpler things of life. This life is fleeting and I'm so glad that I know our Heavenly Father and where we'll be someday. I'm so glad I've found your blog. :-)
    Blessings,
    Betsy
