Today

I live on a metaphorical island in the middle of everywhere. My husband, my Knight in Shining Armor, is protective and hates covid, so here we are, sequestered. Do you have a hero in your life? It is a gift, one I am amazed by.

I have started watching podcasts. There is one with a scientist who asks other scientists scientists' questions. They answer him with impressive words and complex numbers. Then he asks them the meaning of life and they give him crazy answers. It hurts my heart. I wonder if anyone will tell them they are here on purpose. I won't because I live on this island. I can only tell you guys.

There are leaves in the pond now. How is it September already?

Bless you all for being here.

  1. Witha protective husband like yours you may live any place metaphorical or not. I'm not watching anything lately. I'm doing things. We learn more from doing than from watching.

  2. That's a sad commentary regarding those scientists, Sandi. My husband is very protective, too, especially when it comes to this Covid mess. Honestly, I'm so weary of living on my "island."
    Blessings!

  3. How are you handling Covid? Do you have groceries delivered, or pick them up in your car? Did you get the vaccine?

    1. We had them delivered once, but now Hubby goes and gets them. It's easier.

  4. I am tired to listen the scientists in this period. I live my life day after day with my family.
We also hate Covid and we are very careful. All the best.

  5. The meaning of life: When a bowl of cherries is empty. Get another full one.

It is OK to live in one's own world.

    God bless.

  6. My husband watches enough stuff for the both of us to stay informed. I try to stay surrounded by my gardens and the water here at the lake....lol. going to church and Bible studies is the information I thrive on. Have a great Labor Day weekend!!

  7. So many opinions out there. It can make your head spin. I'm listening to good sound Bible teachers. We are going to church. My husband has a science degree (pharmacist) so he sifts through that kind of stuff. Put on the Armor and stand firm in your faith. :)

  8. Yes I do have a knight in shining armor too! He's a wonderful guy that always has my best interest at heart. We are both sequestered in our little home, {{sigh}}. Will covid ever leave us? One thing is for sure, God is with us.

  10. Due to COVID and some other personal health issues, I also feel as if I live on an island. I also have a knight in shining armor. He also has his own health issues. We manage to make it through each day and each week.

  12. Thankfully we are never alone when we have Jesus in our hearts and lives. And we can also venture out, taking the full armor of God with us, and not be afraid of those who would do us harm either way...but yes, it is wise to be cautious, but not live in fear. I am sorry for the way "scientists" view life. They are missing out on the best parts of life...the soul and spirit of mankind, that we are here with a purpose, created by God. someday every knee will bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord. I am afraid it will be too late for some, however. Love your pond. Yes, even in Florida leaves are falling...it's fall!

  14. My September will be fine. Right now, I'm dealing with a muscle spasm and hope to get up north. Rick is on a four day bike hike and I'll pick him up when he's through. We will be quite sequestered at the cottage after for about a month. I'm looking forward to it! I'm glad you have your own hero!

  15. a lovely comeback precious Sandi :)

i think when people are engage in certain type of knowledge they keep dig in and get in it deeply like a swarm .may be there are some who loose their ability to Imagine the beauty of other areas of life and speak only through their own restricted perspective .
i see nurses and docs treat mostly patients like a butcher ,they loose their ability to Feel or they pretend to may be .
i think science is true way to worship Creator .He want us to find Him and scientist do this well
health ,peace and happiness to you and loved ones!!!

  17. Yes, the year is passing and natures colours are changing.

The world is not in a good place at the moment.
I do find a quiet walk, taking time to enjoy nature can be calming and restorative.

    My good wishes.

    All the best Jan

  18. Indeed, that metaphorical island is mine too. My hubby and I are currently the only ones in our family who haven't tested positive, so we are alone.🙄
Fortunately, we are going away in our RV for a couple of weeks, so will be isolated in the middle of a field...but at least it will be a change of scenery!😊
Scientists! What do they know about the spiritual aspect of life? Not much, I fear.🙄
Yes, September already...rather scary, isn't it!

Have a safe and happy weekend, dear friend.

    Hugs xxx

  19. Hi Sandi,
I am very grateful that I have been given a lovely husband. However, time is like a puff of smoke, and we can only live one day at a time because we do not know what tomorrow brings. The main thing is that each day we live on the best metaphorical island there is - The body of Christ on earth, because then we have access to the mind of Christ. God bless
