Peace, my word for 2022

Peace like a river,

A wall of water.

You can't outrun it.

It piles up at the feet of a sinful man.

"You can't touch me," he tells it.

But in his heart he hopes it will,

that it will reach him too and

take him with it

to the promised land.

I think it will.

Peace is my Word for 2022

It's going to be great.

War was my Word for 2021, though I didn't tell anyone.

I think we've had a People war this year, not a Weapons war.

Old ways falling, new ways replacing them, people changing,

that sort of thing. Now it's time for peace.

I can't even imagine what it will be like.

Do you think we've been in a war? Do you think it's over?

  1. Oh, I LOVE your word PEACE, and boy, do we ever need it! And yes, I DO believe we've been in a war for the past two years especially, but we've been at war with the enemy of our souls since time began. There will only be PEACE when we all fully surrender to Christ, the only One who can set us free and give us complete peace. But in the meantime, we as believers have PEACE with God that passes all understanding. Praise God for His sweet PEACE, the "gift of God's love". Amen. I haven't discovered my new word yet for 2022. I am still praying about it and waiting on God to reveal it. He will...I'm just waiting and watching and when I see it, I'll know it! Blessings to you in the New Year, and Peace, Goodwill to all men...

  4. Good word of the year. When Jesus is you Messiah, you have an advocate with the Father. A mediator who keeps the peace. He rules over the peace because He is both the Prince of Peace and He is our peace.

  5. Yes, we've been at war, Sandi, and as much as I'd like to believe it, I think the battle will continue into 2022. But like you, I'm praying for peace - that's a perfect word.
    Blessings!

  6. Sandi: I chose PEACE as my word in 2017. We do need peace in our hearts, in our relationships, and in our nation and world. May God guide you as you research the Scriptures for peace and in your life this coming year of 2022.

  7. Peace is a great word for the new year. I haven't narrowed mine down yet to only one. This year my word had been Sacrificial. I wasn't prepared though for how much sacrifice would be involved.

    Blessings~

  9. We need this word now more than ever. We are sure in a political war, like nothing I have seen before.

  10. In his heart, he hopes it will. Did you write this beautiful poem? Since there is good and evil in this world, yes, we are in a war between these two. I love the Scripture that talks about putting on the armor of God. You have chosen a powerful word. As I wrote in my post today, I believe the light always defeats the dark.

  11. I do hope for peace for sure. Yes, the last two years have been a war. Hopefully as we stand up to the war against us it will result in peace. The best peace we have is peace with God because of Jesus Christ and what he did for us on the cross and through His resurrection. Happy New Year Sandi!

  13. It sure feels like a war and I don't think it's over or that it will be for a long time. But I hope your word of peace draws nearer and nearer. It's a wonderful word and something we should all hope for.

  14. Hi Sandi, I have been so busy that I have not had much time to read new blog posts.
I would say that 'Peace' is what I would pray for in the coming year, even though we do not know what will happen in this world tomorrow. However, the scriptures say that in Jesus we have peace, so I would pray that many people who do not know the Lord will come to Him to receive a peace that passes all understanding. You have a happy new year in our Lord.

  17. That is a great word you have picked. I haven't thought of one yet. I don't think I've had one the last 2 years.
    Happy New Year!

  18. It’s a word that should apply to all years, but unfortunately has not. We can only hope for the best in 2022.
