The King of the Jews

Was Jesus black or white? I read this question on an Internet thing earlier today. There is such a push these days to divide us. Either or. But it's a strange question. Jesus is Jewish.

“Do not write, ‘The King of the Jews,’ but rather, ‘This man said, I am

King of the Jews.’” Pilate answered, “What I have written I have written.”

(from John 19:21-22)

  1. I'll stick with Jesus is God the Savior and the way the truth and the life! Jesus was asked questions that sought to undermine who He really was, too. :)

  2. Throughout history it seems people have seen Jesus through the eyes of their own worlds -- the Renaissance artists pictured the people of the bible as relatively Western in look and often in dress, but what we know of culture would indicate otherwise. And you are exactly right, Sandi. It doesn't matter. It's who he was and how he lived that matters.

  3. I agree, a strange and irrelevant question.

  4. You are so right - always something to divide us. Jesus came for all of us, and color/race/gender makes no difference! How thankful I am for His love!

  5. I believe he had a dark complexion. And the bible also says that he was not very handsome.

  7. Ah Sandi I bet Jesus had to be smiling when someone asked that question. P.S. I don't think English will be the only language in heaven either :)!!

  8. Strange and irrelevant question. Jesus was fully human and fully God.

  9. I've heard that same question and wondered why they would even ask it. Yes - He was jewish!

  10. Jesus would have looked middle eastern. Not the way so many artists painted him as.

    1. It's hard to know, but that's probably the point. The bible only says there was nothing in His physical appearance to draw people to Him.

  11. You are so correct Sandi. The Lord adds and the enemy divides.

  13. God is God. That is all I need to know. We have too much division in this world. God is STILL God.
