Our youngest daughter has a friend born in Russia, she is a surgical nurse. They met in a church Sunday school class. It's interesting because this gal likes the "fine things in life" but is also very generous. Our oldest daughter has a good friend named Alex Krotov, author. He is from Russia and was an orphan, he writes and speaks of the orphanages there and his story of being abandoned as a baby. He and his wife have an orphanage in Russia now. Neat people. He is an author also.
Dear Sandi, I do not speak or read Russian and so I'm unsure that is being sung/chanted. But the singer's voice--deep and melodious--is so appealing. And leads, it seem to me, to pondering. Thank you for sharing. Peace from Dee Ready
Hi Sandi, I did leave you a comment but it hasn't come up. I loved this song. I studied the Russian language in a college in Wales but I did not use it much, only to a Russian soldier at the Berlin wall when it had come down. It has long since gone out of my mind. Thank you for sharing this lovely song.
Very interesting Sandi. Is your husband Russian?
ReplyDeleteNeither of us is Russian, but for some strange reason I can't explain I love Russia. 😄

DeleteBless you Sandi.

DeleteThis is lovely. To me, it is like a combination of monks chanting and throat singing.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Ginny. It is one of my favorite songs.
