Why Jesus?

All I know is this.

I once was lost, rudderless, without direction, with no purpose. Is this it? Go to college, I was in college, get a job, a good job, buy new dishes, put them in a house. I had a growing sense of dissatisfaction. Though I did not want to face it, my sins were calling out from the ground. A million tiny shards of shouldn't-have-done-that. No one really gets away with anything.

Who prays a prayer like this, humble words asking Jesus to be Lord of their life? In our modern over-uneducated world where I roar and you roar, where we are our own gods, who bows the knee like that and asks for the leading of a man dead 2,000 years?

Ah, He is alive. He died for our sins and rose again. He defeated death.

He answered me. He came to me. The veil parted. I can see now. And what do I see?

I see you and me standing before a great chasm. Was once and now is  not. That's the name of it. I am different. I have been transformed. I am forgiven. I am loved. You are too. Do you know it?

He is real. That's why. Try it and see.

  2. i guess from my eyes ... i see that a lot of the time we wonder if we are doing enough? like i have been truly throwing myself into learning within my scriptures (taking notes and looking up this or that), not that i didn't do that in the past but really dedicating myself to trying to find bits i have missed or not see before? God grant me the eyes to see what i miss, let me speak words that others need to hear. i think if we Christians realize that so many folks out there are hurting and needing (wishing to seek) him ...they may never get to church ... if we show them the way, not that we force them but help them.... i think for me the recent changes in the world or in the Christian world have really made myself feel unsure in that, i always felt my faith was so rock solid (i had a solid foundation) ... when folks who are in the higher ups in religion sectors are wanting to change things (rewrite the Bible and what we did stand for) ... it feels so scary. i know God is in charge but it is just a more un-settled time ... i keep strong in knowing where i am headed but it is a stressful time. not saying that my grandparents were never unsure (confused, or lost) ....but it sure wasn't seen by me or my family ... hope the ones who are still here on the earth ... hope we are strong enough to keep walking, with the strength of our elders, our past family and friends who have gone on to the heavenly lands ... that they may lift us up when times get rough and tough. grin and bear it ...they say ... i keep trying. keep walking. u have a great week. thanks for the always thought provoking times here on your blog. i love that. take care. 4. Hi Sandi, the Lord did the same to me. I was once lost and am now found and am changing gradually into what I was meant to be when Jesus came into my life.

  12. To answer your question about the flowers on my blog..They are Iris and I took the photo at The Iris Garden in the foothills of No. California. They had every kind of iris there. So many that are not common and I had never seen them before.
Then Covid hit and I have not been back there to stand in awe over God's creation.

  14. This is wonderful writing, Sandi. I like the phrase, "In our modern over-uneducated world where I roar and you roar, where we are our own gods ..." I wish I had written that.

    God bless, Sandi.
