The snow came down and silenced all their sins.
In a great hush
theft,
deceit, and
those quiet untruths
that masquerade as acceptable
were buried in it.
The godly and ungodly alike were covered.
It was a blanket on the capital to keep it warm.
It covered that guy and the other one.
It covered grief and loss and tomorrow and yesterday.
It covered your hopes and dreams. Mine too.
It covered me. It covered you.
The snow has become the highest place to stand.
Every thing is under our feet.
Our blessings,
the guilt of others,
promises,
deception,
honesty and lies.
What matters now that we have overcome everything we feared?
What will we do with this freedom?
Beautiful. We can love others and show them the Way to overcome their fears. Jesus.

Now wash me and cleanse me and I will be whiter than snow...

Beautiful photo and words. It looks like that here, and now when I look out I will think of your words today.
ReplyDeleteWow!!!! This is a work of genius! It affects me in so many ways, it is just beautiful and pertinent.
ReplyDeleteSuch a powerful reflection! Snow as a blanket, covering everything equally—grief, dreams, sins—gives a sense of quiet balance. The final question really hits: with all the weight lifted, what’s next? A perfect invitation to reflect on freedom and purpose.
ReplyDeleteSuch a powerful and reflective piece. The snow as a blanket, covering everything, gives a sense of cleansing and renewal. Now, with everything laid bare, the question of freedom and what we do with it feels even more profound. ❄️
ReplyDeleteWell to be honest - my first thought was that looks so cold.
ReplyDeleteBut I can sure see that a blanket of white covers all iniquities.
Maybe like Jesus taking our sins.
Makes me think!
Beautiful, picture and words.
ReplyDeleteYes, I'm Ok. It was a 7.0 earthquake, but it was 4 hours from where I am. Thank you for checking in. We had another one during the summer I believe, and I felt my house shake. It was the strangest feeling.
ReplyDeleteMy neighbor always reminds me that everything becomes "still" with the first snow. What a pretty picture of the snow.

Beautiful picture and words.
ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan
Very beautifully said and thought provoking. We must keep praying and never let our guard down. Satan is still like a roaring lion roaming to and fro, seeking whom he may devour, "The Bible tells us so". So we must keep our eyes on Jesus, the Author and Finisher of our Faith. He will protect and guide and comfort and keep us safe no matter who or what comes knocking on our door.

DeleteOh yes, what will we do with such a great gift?? Maybe we will share it with another soul. Hugs!
ReplyDeleteFreedom may be a gift or freedom may have been fought for hard. We must care for it, because it can be taken away from us.
