One of the teachers of the law came and heard them debating.
Noticing that Jesus had given them a good answer, he asked him,
“Of all the commandments, which is the most important?”
“The most important one,” answered Jesus, “is this:
‘Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these.”
(Mark 12:28-31, New Testament)
Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads.
(Deuteronomy 6:4-8)

ReplyDeleteGreat verses!!!
ReplyDeleteOh yes! So wonderful. I love the Deuteronomy passage especially the parts about impress them on your children, talk about them, etc... That really stand out to me and is a blessing. We did our best with our children, now it is up to them to carry on. Thank you for this.

ReplyDeleteHi Sandi, the scriptures you have shared are very important
ReplyDeleteI love the way God speaks us individually daily through His word. In Jesus we have become a child of God, and just like physical father spoke to us daily with love and correction so we are spoken to spiritually by the Holy Spirit . God bless.
We need more of this verse happening in our world today.
ReplyDeleteAmen.
ReplyDeleteIt's Sunday and I hope you are having a peaceful day.
All the best Jan
