Not a Secret

The high priest then questioned Jesus about his disciples and his teaching.

Jesus answered him,

“I have spoken openly to the world. I have always taught in synagogues and in the temple, where all Jews come together. I have said nothing in secret. Why do you ask me? Ask those who have heard me what I said to them; they know what I said.”

John 18:19-21

  1. Jesus was questioned probably because they wanted from him confirmation that he indeed presented himself as God's son, King, Messiah.
Judaism, as opposed to Christianity, never accepted him as such. He shouldn't have died though, but that's another matter.

    1. Thanks, Duta.

To the Christian, though, if Jesus hadn't died (and risen from the dead) we would not have salvation.

Judaism may not have accepted Him, but His first disciples were Jews, including the Apostle Paul (Saul of Tarsus) who wrote much of the New Testament.

    2. He had to die for us if the penalty for sin was to be taken away!

  3. People always have doubts, they questioned everything. Jesus had an extremely difficult time. Faith never was easy and never will be.

  6. They wanted to see that He was doing something wrong even though He wasn't. I've got to be careful not to do that in life when I 'think' I'm right and my way is better. Definitely Jesus' way was and is The Way!
