The Believers Pray for Boldness

When they were released, they went to their friends and reported what the chief priests and the elders had said to them. And when they heard it, they lifted their voices together to God and said, “Sovereign Lord, who made the heaven and the earth and the sea and everything in them, who through the mouth of our father David, your servant, said by the Holy Spirit,

“‘Why did the Gentiles rage, and the peoples plot in vain?

The kings of the earth set themselves,

and the rulers were gathered together,

against the Lord and against his Anointed’ —

for truly in this city there were gathered together against your holy servant Jesus, whom you anointed, both Herod and Pontius Pilate, along with the Gentiles and the peoples of Israel, to do whatever your hand and your plan had predestined to take place. And now, Lord, look upon their threats and grant to your servants to continue to speak your word with all boldness, while you stretch out your hand to heal, and signs and wonders are performed through the name of your holy servant Jesus.” And when they had prayed, the place in which they were gathered together was shaken, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and continued to speak the word of God with boldness.

Acts 4:23-31

  1. I think it takes a particular boldness now for Christians. Being a Christian doesn't have the same respect as it once did. To be bold and stand up to the liberal stuff out there and the ungodly values we face everyday. . . that takes boldness! Great post. Thank you.

  2. I think there are a lot of "Gentiles" raging and plotting these days. Praying that God will prevail against them. We know that He is in control, and we will continue to trust in Him no matter what.

  3. Yes - we need to be praying for boldness!

  4. All for the furtherance of the Gospel...may it be proclaimed in small and big ways with boldness.

  5. Thanks for sharing!

It's a must, that I stay strong in the Lord, which is one of the reasons I had to somewhat distant myself from some people, seeing we're not suppose to be unequally yoked with non believers that have not accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior!

    God Bless!

  6. Hi Sandi, I do not see the gifts of the Spirit operating like they used to in the church gatherings I have attended in the past. I believe we are in the end times when there is only a remnant that are bold in the Spirit. Many are trusting in man more than the Lord in their circumstances.

  7. Clicked over to your blog, quite by accident, through a 2.5-year-old comment at the Pleasant View Schoolhouse blog. I'm glad I found you!

    1. Good to meet you! I tried to go to your blog, but it redirects to another site.
