A still, small voice crying in the desert.
You will find rest for your soul.
Sit here with me on the rickety balcony of my college apartment.
I lived on Grace Street. I lived on Grace. I still live on Grace, but
faraway now. I spent a lot of time alone then, well, alone with God.
It was good for me.
Quiet times on this simple balcony rearranged me, my soul, my heart.
After all these years, my days still bear fruit and I rest in His presence.
I pray for you, friends I haven't met yet, to know this love.
Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.
Matthew 11:28
Hi Sandi: I sit and reflect everyday, on my back porch, it feels refreshing. Praying is a large part of our lives here at home.
ReplyDeleteWithout God in my life I would not be the person I am today.
Have a Blessed Day.

ReplyDeleteThat's a beautiful post.
ReplyDeleteI love this - living on Grace!
ReplyDeleteSo true Sandi, perfect rest in our Lord can be received in all places when we come to Him. I found that even those who had done very bad things in their lives found rest in the Lord when I was a prison visitor on the lifer's wing, even while being in a very confined cell. God bless

ReplyDeleteA tiny balcony - one needs no more space for being alone with one's soul and God's presence. The flat on Grace street - what a meaningful coincidence!
ReplyDeleteLike, Elijah, we think God speaks only in the loudest way. But no, He speaks to us in the quiet.
