When Herod the king heard this, he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him;

I lift up my eyes to the mountains— where does my help come from?
My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.
“Pilate also wrote an inscription and put it on the cross.
It read, “Jesus of Nazareth, the King of the Jews.”
Many of the Jews read this inscription, for the place where Jesus was crucified was near the city, and it was written in Aramaic, in Latin, and in Greek. So the chief priests of the Jews said to Pilate, “Do not write, ‘The King of the Jews,’ but rather, ‘This man said, I am King of the Jews.’” Pilate answered, “What I have written I have written.” John 19:19-22
He wrote that himself. He took the time to sit and write a sign.
This man was like a king, yet he did this.
The high priest then questioned Jesus
about his disciples and his teaching.
Jesus answered him,
“I have spoken openly to the world. I have always taught in
synagogues and in the temple, where all Jews come together.
I have said nothing in secret.
Why do you ask me?
Ask those who have heard me what I said to them;
they know what I said.”
