Dear Sandi! Our President V.V. Putin often goes to church. During the Nativity Fast, Russians eat various porridges (rice, buckwheat, oatmeal, millet); vegetables and fruits (heat-treated and raw); greens; nuts; honey; mushrooms; plant-based, also known as alternative, milk; Lenten pastries and bread; fish and seafood. The ban is imposed on meat and dairy products, poultry and eggs. Alcohol is also prohibited. The exception is a small amount of wine, which can be consumed on Sundays and church holidays.
We have much to be thankful for and being thankful benefits us yet again in giving us a positive mindset.
ReplyDeleteAmen. I'm trying to be more mindful this year of my blessings and then show my gratitude to the Lord.
ReplyDeleteBlessings and hugs,
Betsy
