I think so. When you forgive someone, it can have a ripple effect that extends beyond just yourself and the person being forgiven, impacting various aspects of your life and those around you.
The phrase "forgiveness ricochets" emphasizes the transformative power of forgiveness and the positive impact it can have on individuals, relationships, and communities.
Dear Sandi, finally, after months of being away from reading blogs, I'm slowly returning. Your short sentence today really hit home for me. T hat is, I was chatting this morning with a friend much younger than myself, and we were talking about someone who has grievously hurt her.
The conversation then turned to forgiveness. I recounted the time in my life when I finally came to understand my father. It was then that my stony heart broke apart and the seed of love took root.
That will, I hope, be in the memoir on which I'm now working. But to find your words here today just felt as if the story I've held within for so many years does need to be explored and shared in a memoir.
Thank you for re-enforcement. Peace from Dee and the cats.
Thank you for that, Dee. How did you finally come to understand your father? I do hope your young friend will be able to forgive and be free too. I think the word forgiveness is sometimes misunderstood. It is about freedom.
Dear Sandi, I so agree. When I embraced forgiveness, erasing from the chalkboard of life the judgments I'd made about Dad, I truly did feel free to love him ever and always, just as he was, just as he'd always been. Peace from Dee and the cats
