Now there was a man of the Pharisees named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews.
This man came to Jesus by night and said to him,
“Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher come from God, for no one can do these signs that you do unless God is with him.”
Jesus answered him,
“Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God.”
Nicodemus said to him,
“How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother's womb and be born?”
Jesus answered,
“Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Do not marvel that I said to you, ‘You must be born again.’ The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear its sound, but you do not know where it comes from or where it goes. So it is with everyone who is born of the Spirit.”
John 3:1-8
Yes indeed. You must!! Linda T
ReplyDeleteBloody oath one needs to be reborn
ReplyDeleteWell, how do we get this water-spirit rebirth? I suppose it's some kind of spiritual transformation that a man must undergo in order to enter the kingdom of God.
ReplyDeleteYes, a spiritual tranformation.
DeleteHow do we get it? Ask God. Pray. Jesus is the savior.
DeleteOh yes, when we repent of our sins and ask Jesus to wash us clean, He will wash us in His shed blood and we will be white as snow...and as clean as a brand new baby!! That's what it means to be born again. Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you shall be saved!! (Acts 16:31). Amen!
ReplyDeleteAmen. Thanks, Pamela. I was searching for the words.
DeleteDla każdego grzesznika jest nadzieja.:)
ReplyDeleteFor my English speakers, Cela wrote, "There is hope for every sinner."
DeleteAmen!
Dziękuję, Cela.
Amen to this!
ReplyDeleteUnless we have the Holy Spirit to lead us into all truth we will not be able to become a child of God, and learn His ways, in order to enter the Kingdom of God when we leave this earth.
ReplyDeleteJesus often taught in parables because His audience at the time would not be able to understand. Many today still don't.
ReplyDeleteHere He is saying (I believe) that a grown up person needs to make his own personal decision to believe in God and follow Jesus. It is not just something that happens to you when you're baptised as a baby, or are taught by your parents. It is a personal, one-to-one, decision between an individual and God. You accept Him in your life and you are "born again".
God bless.

I like psalms: "O Lord, you have searched me and you know me. You know when I sit and when I rise; you perceive my thoughts from afar. You discern my going out and my lying down; you are familiar with all my ways. (Psalm 139)
