"Have you ever heard His voice," asked Basil the Fool,
five hundred years old and too wise for our time.
She nodded. She had heard His voice.
"And what did He say," came the Fool's inquisitive reply.
"I said I was doing this for Him. He said He was doing it for me."
Basil smiled.
She smiled too.
Oh, what a powerful thought! "I said I was doing this for Him. He said He was doing it for me." How very true that is about so much of what we "think" we are doing for the Lord, or what we are "sacrificing" for the Lord...we think we are so great to be doing this for Him, and God says He really doesn't need our sacrifices...but He wants us to learn humility and obedience... "To obey is better than sacrifice..." I Sam. 15:22. Thank you for stimulating my thoughts this morning already! Have a blessed day!
