Me. You?

ADONAI your God, who goes before

you, He Himself will fight for you—just

as He did for you in Egypt before your

own eyes, and in the wilderness,

where you saw how ADONAI your

God carried you as a man carries his

son, everywhere you went, until you

came to this place.

What Would You Pray?

Pulled before the kings of the Earth, the humble soul was asked to pray.

"Yes, open this meeting in prayer," they pleaded. Their motives were unclear. Their expectations were hidden. A room full of the powerful, the weary, and the hopeless. What would you pray for presidents and kings? What would your words be for this fallen world? What would you say?

Humbleness

Humbleness is a word.

Devoid of arrogance and modest. That's what it means.

This is what I long to teach my young sisters.

Quiet.

Learn.

Listen.

You don't have to rush.

You don't have to do this

Or that.

You don't have to listen to them when they say you are not enough.

In fact, you should not.

Romans 15:21

“Those who have never been told of him will see,

and those who have never heard will understand.”

Why Am I Here?

What am I doing here on this green Earth with the grass between my toes and many years past? Why am I standing here in this meadow looking up? Why do I know you and you me, but not Benjamin Franklin or Attila the Hun, or Madonna? What about my opinions? I have many. I think you must want to hear them. That's a little funny.

I love my sons and my kind husband. I love you. Well, you type well and read here, what's not to love? Why am I here at this moment in time? Did I do or have I done or will I do all of the things? Are there things? Am I here to do things?

Why are you here? I mean on this post and on this day?

Why are we here?

Freedom

Romans 12:14-21

Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse them. Rejoice with those who rejoice, weep with those who weep. Live in harmony with one another. Do not be haughty, but associate with the lowly. Never be wise in your own sight. Repay no one evil for evil, but give thought to do what is honorable in the sight of all. If possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all. Beloved,  never avenge yourselves, but leave it to the wrath of God, for it is written,  “Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord.” To the contrary, “if your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink; for by so doing you will heap burning coals on his head.” Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

The Fullness of the Gentiles

Lest you be wise in your own sight, I do not want you to be unaware of this mystery, brothers: a partial hardening has come upon Israel, until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in. And in this way all Israel will be saved, as it is written,

“The Deliverer will come from Zion,

  he will banish ungodliness from Jacob”;

and this will be my covenant with them

when I take away their sins.”

As regards the gospel, they are enemies for your sake.

But as regards election, they are beloved for the sake of their forefathers.

Lost Sheep of the House of Israel

And Jesus went away from there and withdrew to the district of Tyre and Sidon.

And behold, a Canaanite woman from that region came out and was crying,

“Have mercy on me, O Lord,

Son of David;

my daughter is severely oppressed by a demon.”

But he did not answer her a word.

And his disciples came and begged him, saying,

“Send her away, for she is crying out after us.”

He answered,

“I was sent only to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.”

But she came and knelt before him, saying,

 “Lord, help me.”

And he answered,

“It is not right to take the children’s bread and throw it to the dogs.” She said, “Yes, Lord, yet even the dogs eat the crumbs that fall from their masters’ table.” Then Jesus answered her, “O woman, great is your faith! Be it done for you as you desire.”

And her daughter was healed instantly.

Words of Jesus

“Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”

Matthew 11:28-30

Why Are You Afraid?

And he said to them, “Why are you afraid, O you of little faith?” Then he rose and rebuked the winds and the sea, and there was a great calm. And the men marveled, saying, “What sort of man is this, that even winds and sea obey him?”

Tree

A healthy tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a diseased tree bear good fruit.

Hmmm...

Do not give dogs what is holy,

and do not throw your pearls before pigs,

lest they trample them underfoot and turn to attack you.

Trust

Trust in Adonai with all your heart,

lean not on your own understanding.

In all your ways acknowledge Him,

and He will make your paths straight.

My People

if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

Seek First

“Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life? And why are you anxious about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin, yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is alive and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? Therefore do not be anxious, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the Gentiles seek after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all. But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. “Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.”

Matthew 6:25-34

The Bread Museum

"You're scared because you look at scary things," he said.

They chose seats and marveled at the braided loaves hanging from strings.

"It's a cafe," he said.

She disagreed. There was so much bread it had to be a bragging baker's collection.

He smiled.

"You know what's funny?" He asked.

She knew,  "We're low carb and here we are staring at things that are not for us."

"It's like you watching scary things. They're not ours," he reminded her.

"We were not made for fear," he went on.

"Some of it isn't even true," he said, then shrugged, "They lie to us."

Funny how they knew it, but watched the show anyway. Why did they do that?

They ordered stacked sandwiches, each made with four cups of flour, then pulled off the meat and lettuce and tomato slices. Picking, choosing, leaving what wasn't for them on the plate. So much of life is like that. You don't have to eat it all.
