Humbleness

Humbleness is a word.

Devoid of arrogance and modest. That's what it means.

This is what I long to teach my young sisters.

Quiet.

Learn.

Listen.

You don't have to rush.

You don't have to do this

Or that.

You don't have to listen to them when they say you are not enough.

In fact, you should not.

  1. I looked up the Hebrew and Greek meanings for the word humble. Sometimes it seems to me humbleness can take on a sense of false pride. Colossians tells me to "put on humbleness of mind." I like how you always make me think Sandi!😊

    2. Yes, an explanation might help, I will give it my best. Sometimes not wanting to be prideful we take on a sense of trying to be appear humble.( and I am thinking of some examples). Maybe that is why we are to" put on" humbleness of mind. Our minds must be fully aware and know we can do nothing apart from Him...including being humble. Oh, how I look forward to the day when the struggle with my own flesh and sin is gone. I must go fix dinner...hope this helps.

    4. This is why I hesitate to comment sometimes. If we were sitting face to face and had this discussion it would look so much different.
I was on a rabbit trail. You made me think , but my comment might have sounded completely unrelated😒. My apologies. I believe what you were saying on your post had to do with something you either experienced yourself or witnessed in other Christian sisters?
Your reply is so kind and considerate, Sandi.

    6. Sometimes we do not see what someone else sees. I remember a dear friend praying for me when I was a young woman. She prayed against pride. I was wondering why she was praying that and if something was wrong with her, then it dawned on me. I.have..pride.

A little funny, but I really thought she was just rambling. Ha...

It is always important to listen and to ask! We need eachother.

  5. Yes our "sisters" need to listen and accept themselves as who God created them to be. Great thought provoking verse and commentary.

  6. Amen. God created us just as He wants us to be. We just need to be in constant contact with Him to make sure we're fulfilling His plan for us.
    Blessings,
