Helpless


For You have been a defense for the helpless,
A defense for the needy in his distress,
A refuge from the storm, a shade from the heat;
For the breath of the ruthless
Is like a rain storm against a wall.

    Really? Is this really true or wishful thinking? :) Talk to the people of Puerto Rico about finding "a refuge from the storm." I wonder what 1st Isaiah meant in this verse?

      Well, I have not been to Puerto Rico, but I have been helpless and I have seen Him be my defense. I would say true, not just wishful thinking.

    had it not been for God's defense and refuge, many more lives would have been lost and many more homes would have been destroyed. We just don't realize how much danger we are in except for the protection and strong defense of God...even at this moment when there is no storm...God's angels are surrounding us and holding back the assaults of the enemy. We need to praise Him...for we do not know how many fiery darts and bolts of lightning He has diverted on our behalf!!

    The picture of the mountains that you have chosen, Sandi, is what I think of when I think of God...they symbolize strength and protection to me. He truly is a defense for us when we need it.
