These Days

These days it seems every country is threatening another. I can't control what they do, only what I do. I see the Lord moving in my heart to forgive and be forgiven. In the past few years He has brought to mind some things far in the past that I needed to remember and be forgiven of, and to forgive other people. It was not easy, but it was good. It seems to me I can wonder about the hearts of people, and the motives of world leaders, but when it comes down to it, my heart's condition is what matters. I can not decide for anyone else, only myself. I pray for our world.

I pray for you. Any prayer requests?

“Then he left the crowds and went into the house.

And his disciples came to him, saying,

“Explain to us the parable of the weeds of the field.”

He answered,

“The one who sows the good seed is the Son of Man.

The field is the world,

and the good seed is the sons of the kingdom.

The weeds are the sons of the evil one,

and the enemy who sowed them is the devil.

The harvest is the end of the age, and the reapers are angels.

Just as the weeds are gathered and burned with fire,

so will it be at the end of the age.

The Son of Man will send his angels,

and they will gather out of his kingdom

all causes of sin and all law-breakers,

and throw them into the fiery furnace.

In that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

Then the righteous will shine like the sun in the kingdom of their Father.

He who has ears, let him hear. ”

Matthew 13: 36-43

  1. Self-realization can take awhile but it is well worth the effort in terms of finding inner peace.

  2. Yes, very true. A wise person once told me if you can find it in your heart to forgive, do it for yourself first as it is like drinking the poison they are feeding you. I've never forgotten that. Thank you for a very wise post Sandi.

  3. The Lord has brought to mind some forgiving I needed to deal with this week. Good to forgive and ask for forgiveness, too. So much in this world that we are not in control of but we know the one who is sovereign!

  4. Sometimes the hardest person to forgive is ourselves even after God has forgiven us.

  5. Hi Sandi. Thanks for popping by my blog. I have felt the need to forgive for things that seem almost unforgivable. However, unforgiven those things remain a spike in the heart and can cause angst.

You asked about white pumpkins. They are edible and I think the consistency is about the same as orange pumpkins. Good luck using them! xo Diana

  7. Pray is the only answer to todays' world problem. It is quite overwhelming but God is in control. Have a great weekend and thanks for your comments.

  8. our life is determines how we deal with life and people around us dear Sandi so agree that it is only our heart we can control and this is only demand that our Lord asks us to fulfil rest is straightened afterwards as he promised ,things go ugly when we disobey him and try to control others

  9. Hello,
The world's leaders are down right scary right now. I pray for peace around the world. Take care, have a great weekend.

  10. The world seems to be moving backwards to a scary place again, you are so right. We should have learned enough to know how to avoid war by now. I guess it takes just one leader to set things off.

    1. I've lived long enough to know this can not be blamed on just one leader.

  11. Truth. We can only "control" ourselves and even that is questionable. We can pray and, though that doesn't seem like much, it really is. I finally added your blog to my blogroll. It was way past time.

  12. Bom dia, Sandy
